Barclays Live
2024
To envision a future-state, differentiated sell-side research platform while concurrently redesigning the existing robust digital platform of Barclays Live. To help enhance and improve usability and introduce a refreshed look and feel for a better user experience in how the Investment Bank engages with its clients.
Roles & Responsibilities
As the Lead and Director, I was responsible for deconstructing the original platform and reconstructing it into a new digital experience. During the research phase, I collaborated with the team to understand the key pain points and reasons behind the platform's evolution over time. Conducted interviews with current users, stakeholders, and their analyst team to gain a better understanding of how they engage with and promote specific research content tailored to individual clients and their interests.
I discussed overall findings, design solutions, and feature enhancements with the client to improve the experience. I created information architecture, user flows, and wireframes, transitioning to high-fidelity page templates that accounted for all page types and edge cases, effectively communicating our proposed solutions. Additionally, I provided critiques and guidance on the visual design direction, developing a new design system for the platform to ensure alignment with user needs. I built prototypes and animations to explain to stakeholders how motion UI can enhance the user experience during site navigation and how interactions can be utilized.
Final Designs
Designed a final set of page templates to establish hierarchy and consistency, facilitating improved navigation within the dense amount of content. This ensures that users can easily understand their location on the platform and seamlessly navigate through information, enhancing the discoverability of the research and tools accessible to them.

Subscriptions
Clients have the ability to subscribe to research they want to follow through various methods within the Barclays subscription tree. With a robust index of subscription categories, including asset class, industry, sector, company, or analyst, we focused on enhancing the simplicity of the subscription process. We introduced a tray feature that allows clients to easily click and select their interests within a specific category or route for subscription. Once subscribed, they can easily customize their preferences, choosing to receive email updates or only see the research displayed within their feeds.

Information Architecture
Sifted through their current website to better understand the various types of pages the platform contained. I presented their current AI to work closely with stakeholders in understanding the reasoning behind the duplications and nesting of pages. We then proposed a new navigation structure to categorize the research items into individual platforms: Research, Data (& Tools), and Events, making it easier for clients to find specific content and tools. This structure also introduced a way for clients to easily understand their membership access type to specific products within the overall Barclays Live platform.

Design System
In addition clickable prototypes and final design templates, we created a UI library comprising over 200 components, complete with guidelines, for stakeholders to use and adapt for future use within these templates or for the creation of new pages.
